The Evolution of Writing: Bridging the Digital Divide with Molly Moynahan and Cody Cook-Parrott
The traditional publishing model has been turned upside down in the digital age. Join us to hear the experiences of two different writers on either side of the digital divide. When Molly Moynahan published her first novel in 1990 and her most recent in 2003, there was no such thing as followers or subscribers; brick-and-mortar bookstores were flourishing, and the only way to promote your book was through the marketing department of the publisher. Cody Cook-Parrott reaches thousands of readers weekly through their very successful Substack newsletter Monday Monday. Together they'll talk about using a newsletter to write and promote your work, working with an agent and a publisher and how it's not all bells and whistles, and why we write - no matter if we have a book deal or not. This is sure to be a great conversation between writers of different generations dedicated to a consistent writing practice, sharing the work, and talking about the process.
