cclaimed Michigan-born tenor, Glenn Seven Allen, returns to his home state to debut The American Tenor, a first-of-its-kind classical crossover concert blending opera and theater. Think ‘Andrea Bocelli meets Josh Groban’; a 22-piece orchestra, including world-class musicians from the Detroit Opera and Symphony, Interlochen, and the Traverse City Philharmonic, will join Mr. Allen.
Mr. Allen will be debuting original classical/crossover orchestrations of hit songs, including ‘Oh Danny Boy,’ ‘Maria,’ ‘Music of the Night’ and ‘Nessun Dorma,’ as well as brand new versions of songs like ‘With or Without You’ and ‘Somewhere in Time’ with Italian lyrics. A Michigan native, Glenn Seven Allen has performed on Broadway, Carnegie Hall, PBS/Great Performances, and at major theater, concert, and opera venues worldwide.
Mr. Allen is currently a principal tenor with New York City Opera. He is proud to return to his beloved home state of Michigan to make his solo concert debut as THE AMERICAN TENOR. This event will also be recorded live as an album and television special.
