The Discovery Boat Program provides a hands-on educational opportunity. Participants will join the Glen Lake Association's watershed biologists onboard a 22-foot pontoon boat cruise of Glen Lake. Secrets of how and why Glen Lake is so unique and pristine will be revealed. Many say Glen Lake is one of the most beautiful inland lakes in the country, and Discovery Boat cruisers come away from their experience with a deeper appreciation as to why.
The curriculum varies each week and is tailored to the interests of the participants. Topics may include how glaciers formed the lake and surrounding hillsides, wetlands, and streams; the chemistry of the water; the biology of the plants and animals; and the ecology of how all the parts work together. The life cycle of swimmer’s itch and prevention of it are also covered. Each cruise can accommodate up to eight passengers. Participation is open to anyone 8 years old and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult and bring their own life preserver.

Regular priced tickets for non-Glen Lake Association members are $25 each. Glen Lake Association members are invited to enjoy a discounted ticket price of $15 each.
