Join The Botanic Garden at Historic Barns Park on Saturday, May 3, 2025, for a peaceful and family-friendly event in honor of World Labyrinth Day—a global celebration promoting peace, mindfulness, and community connection. All ages are welcome.

Beginning at 12:30 PM, gather at the Visitor Center for a special story time featuring When I Slow Down by local author Paul Sutherland. Recommended by Cottage Book Shop in Glen Arbor, this beautifully illustrated children’s book introduces mindfulness through gentle yoga poses and an engaging narrative that encourages young readers to slow down and become aware of their thoughts, emotions, and bodies. Story time is hosted by PoWeR! Book Bags.

Following the reading, participants will move to the Garden Labyrinth at 1:00 PM to take part in a meditative walk as part of the international “Walk as One at 1” movement. This shared moment of stillness and intention creates a rolling wave of peaceful energy across time zones around the globe.

“Taking time to slow down and reflect is something we could all use a little more of,” says Matthew Ross, Executive Director of The Botanic Garden. “This event offers a unique opportunity to connect with nature, build community, and experience the quiet power of walking together with purpose.”

This event is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome. Please note that the event will be cancelled in case of inclement weather.
