We are bringing to life the shindig of the summer with big joy at the heart of the weekend’s events. The founder of Sleeping Bear Surf, Beryl Skrocki, lived life overflowing with good energy, and established Sleeping Bear Surf on a foundation of joy itself.

The first inaugural "Beryl Days”, celebrating 20 years of Sleeping Bear Surf, intends to share & bring to life the joy that Sleeping Bear Surf survives upon.

Friday, the 28th, kicks off with a Traditional Paddle Out in honor of Beryl, followed by our classic Friday night Wine & Cheese on the wall at the Empire Public Beach.

Saturday, the 29th, consists of big, huge, fun - from sandcastle building and skipping stone contests, a high-vibe, radical, rambunctious relay race, a skate jam, a surf swap, games in the greenspace, food, beverage, and music through 10pm from local legend Patrick Neimisto, a serenade from Allie Kessel, groovy tunes from The Skinny Limbs, and boogie-music from The Go Rounds.

Sunday, the 30th, winds down the weekend with a rejuvenating yoga practice, a beach cleanup with The Cleanup Club, and a Community Sip n’ Dip!

There will be event camping with our friends at Backyard Burdickville just up the way so attendees can spend the whole weekend in little Empire!
