Benzonia Academy Lecture Series: “100 Years of the Garden Theater” Presented By: Katie Jones
The Garden Theater boasts a rich and valuable history. Located on the corner of Main Street in downtown Frankfort, mere blocks from idyllic Lake Michigan, it has served its community since opening its doors in 1924. Join us as The Garden Theater’s Executive Director, Katie Jones, dives into the history of its last 100 years and hear the stories, including how community members came together to purchase the theater and how they spent hundreds of hours bringing it back to life with the goal of keeping it running for another 100 years.
This presentation, part of the Benzie Area Historical Society’s Benzonia Academy Lecture Series, is open to all. It is held on the second Thursday of each month, usually at the Mills Community House, 891 Michigan Ave, Benzonia; admission is by donation, making it accessible to everyone. We recommend a donation of $ 5, but any amount is appreciated.
For more information about this fascinating lecture on November 14th, visit the Benzie Area Historical Society’s website, benziemuseum.org, Instagram, or Facebook page; call the Museum at (231) 882-5539, or email info@benziemuseum.org. Don't miss out on this enriching historical experience!
