Join Crooked Tree Arts Center of Traverse City for an engaging artist talk featuring two artists from the Wooden & Earthen exhibition, Nik Burkhart and Nick Preneta. The artists will share insights into their individual art-making processes, styles, and materials—offering a deeper understanding of the ideas and techniques behind their work.

Following the talk, artist Nik will demonstrate several alternative wood finishing methods used in his featured pieces, including wood pickling, graphite application, and the use of urethane. He’ll show how these elements can be layered in a variety of ways to achieve striking visual effects. As part of the experience, attendees may have an opportunity to try some of the techniques themselves.
