In Studio A with Audrey Michael

Audrey Michael is a senior at Traverse City West High School. Last year, she won the Karen Mitchell Memorial Award from the Grand Traverse Musicale.

Recently, she sang music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ned Rorem in Studio A at Interlochen Public Radio. Audrey Michael performed with pianist, Jamie Hardesty.

In addition to her musical studies, Michael participates in local government and commerce. She serves as student liaison for the Downtown Development Authority in Traverse City, and during summers she works at Peace, Love & Little Donuts in Traverse City.

"I think it's really important to get more ideas and more different perspectives in government, because you can't just have just one type of person on a board or in a part of government," she said. "Otherwise it's one-sided, and it doesn't necessarily represent the whole."
