A concert filled with light, celebration and the joy of music in motion.
Stacy Garrop's Handel-inspired opener, "Spectacle of Light," begins with bursts of color and anticipation, leading into Handel's dazzling "Music for the Royal Fireworks" — music written to uplift, astonish and fill the hall with brilliance. Bach's Brandenburg Concerto no. 3 brings the fireworks inward, with strings that dance, race and sparkle in vivid conversation. Haydn's beloved "London" Symphony closes the evening with wit, warmth, and unmistakable joy. Dame Jane Glover conducts this radiant program of Baroque brilliance and Classical charm.
Classical IPR will broadcast the concert live on Friday, May 15, starting at 10:40 a.m. Listen on air, through the IPR mobile app, or on your smart speaker or smart TV.
