Staffing and hosting updates
This week, Classical IPR welcomes a new voice to the air.
Kevin LaRose is joining the Classical IPR staff as a part-time host.
A freelance musician and teacher based in Kingsley, Kevin will host Music at Midday (noon to 3 p.m.) on Mondays and other shifts as needed.
Kevin is a graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy, where he studied low brass with Tom Riccobono. He holds a bachelor's degree in music education and performance from Michigan State University and a master’s in tuba performance from the Hartt School of Music (CT).
Classical IPR's search for a new full-time digital content producer and host of Afternoon Classical is ongoing. We hope to have a new host in place by May 2026.
Programming updates
One year after its initial launch, the time has come to say goodbye to Intermezzo.
We're proud of what we accomplished on this program and are grateful for all of our co-hosts for sharing their time with us.
We are ending Intermezzo in order to dedicate time and energy to a new weekly program for kids and families.
Christy L’Esperance will invite young cohosts to explore new topics paired in surprising ways with classical music.
This new program will include young expert co-hosts in every episode, highlighting their areas of interest and how those interests connect to classical music.
