Voters head to the polls Tuesday for local elections that include the mayor and three city commission seats in Traverse City and a handful of ballot proposals elsewhere.

Voters in Traverse City will decide if Mayor Amy Shamroe stays in office on Tuesday.

Shamroe is seeking a second term leading the region's largest city and faces a challenge from City Commissioner Tim Werner.

There are also three seats open on the city commission.

The Traverse Ticker has coverage of the candidates. Their senior writer, Beth Milligan, spoke with IPR's Ed Ronco about what's on the Traverse City ballot.
