Transom at IPR: A Farmworker's Story

Tomas Moreno, Jr., tells reporter Michelle Jokisch Polo about his family's legacy working in the vineyards of northern Michigan.

This week, we're sharing some stories produced by the Transom Story Workshop, which visited Interlochen Public Radio in August.

As temperatures fall across northern Michigan, vineyard workers are busy keeping tabs on the ripening of their grapes.

Knowing the right time to harvest is tricky.
