Former President Donald Trump's campaign says he will talk about Michigan’s auto industry and how policies to expand electric vehicles could threaten U.S. manufacturing.
"Between the stringent emission standards and lack of consumer demand, companies are being set up for failure," said a statement from the Trump campaign announcing his visit.
His running mate JD Vance made a similiar argument when he visited the region at the end of September.
In a statement, the Harris campaign said Michigan lost hundreds of thousands of jobs during the Trump administration, and that "a second Trump term would be an even bigger risk to the stability and security of hardworking families."
The Democratic and Republican tickets are criss-crossing Michigan with less than two weeks until the election.
Former President Obama was in Detroit campaigning for Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday, and both Harris and Trump were in Michigan this past weekend.
