BBC World Service airing tonight, in place of regular programming

Ed Ronco

Tech trouble at IPR means we'll hear the BBC World Service starting at 7 tonight, instead of at 10.

Sometimes, despite our best efforts, gizmos break.

Today, an important gizmo — the receiver that brings in our live satellite programming and some of the syndicated shows you hear every night on IPR — stopped functioning properly.

As a result, we'll bring you the BBC World Service tonight instead of our usual lineup of Radiolab, Think and The Middle.

The bad news is we have to pre-empt our usual programming tonight. The good news is that our backup is fascinating programming from one of the world's preeminent news agencies.

And of course, we're grateful to your patience. Our technical staff and vendors are working hard to overnight us the parts we need, and we hope to have things back to normal as soon as possible.

Your feedback is always welcome. You can find out how to reach us through this link.

Ed Ronco is IPR's news director.
