Pay for this full-time position starts at $40,000 per year, and includes competitive benefits, plus a year of housing if needed.
The northern part of Michigan’s lower peninsula (think, “top of the mitten”) is a rapidly growing region and that means there are lots of stories to tell — about growth, shifting political demographics, art, culture, and more — in one of the most beautiful places in the country.
Interlochen is within an easy drive of Grand Traverse Bay, Lake Michigan, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, and a host of other places most people only get to see on vacation. You'll work on the campus of Interlochen Center for the Arts, a historic and internationally known center for arts education, which attracts talented students and headlining performers from around the world.
This six-person newsroom is in the middle of a reinvention. We’re shifting the way we do things, thinking about how audiences are changing, and looking for new ways to tell stories while also continuing the work that brought us our track record of excellence: high quality, sound-rich, meaningful journalism centered on serving the public.
