The intermediate musical theatre division of Interlochen Arts Camp is putting on a production of Stephen Sondheim's "Into the Woods" this week.
The show features a collection of fairy tale characters on a quest to break a curse and have their wishes granted by a mysterious witch.
Schools often create a "junior" version of "Into the Woods" by only performing Act I and skipping the challenging Act II.
Our intermediates, however, head straight into Act II's complicated woods!
The creative team and some of the cast joined us in IPR's Studio A for music and a chat. Listen to the interview and the students' performances above!
The show's creative team includes Peggy Trecker White (director), Anne Lewis (music director/vocal coach) and Matt Lindstrom (choreographer).
Cast members featured in this Studio A:
Rowan Barber (Cinderella's Prince)
Jasper Fernald (Rapunzel's Prince)
Brenna Charlick (Baker's Wife)
Laurel Strong (Cinderella)
Tony "T.J" Fritzgerald (Baker)
Isabel Panciera is the pianist for all performances.
Stefan Wiebe engineered this edition of Studio A.
