Violist and Interlochen Arts Academy alumnus Jay Julio paid a return visit to Studio A to check in on their ongoing and upcoming projects.
Jay is founder and member of "Sound Off: Musicians for Bail" - raising money for those in need in the judicial system.
Jay and their ensemble are currently working on an album ("Neutral Objects") featuring music by composers from marginalized societies or those of color, working with a grant from Juilliard to collect and record their music.
Jay shared info about the Sound Off organization and the upcoming album with us, and played music by Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson - "Plain Blues" from "Blue/s Forms."
