When megawatt Yeah Yeah Yeahs singer Karen O released Crush Songs, a solo record of intimate, ukulele-based bedroom recordings, it was a surprise move. Yet the new Asli Baykal-directed video for one of those tracks, "Singalong," is just what you'd expect. It's a lo-fi production with the same intimacy and immediacy O cultivated on Crush Songs, as it documents the everyday, street-level lives of New Yorkers. It's a brief, joyful love letter to community and empathy that looks exactly right over a short, happy track O recorded in her room with family and friends.
