The former principal of Kingsley Middle School has been charged with criminal sexual conduct. Karl Hartman resigned yesterday after being accused of sexual contact with minors.
Kingsley Superintendent Keith Smith says they were surprised by the allegations -- which include sexual acts with young boys and purchasing alcohol for minors.
"We’ll be bringing in additional counsellors and support. For not only these students ... but anyone who had him in the past,” Smith says.
Hartman did not respond to requests for comment.
The Grand Traverse County Prosecutor's Office is asking anyone with additional information to call the sheriff’s office.
