Six Traverse City Beach Bums have been elected to the Frontier League All-Star team. And because the Beach Bums are currently leading their division, Manager Dan Rohnwill coach the All-Star team.
Rohn says the Beach Bums have come a long way from last season, when they were derailed by several injuries to key players.
“We just got everybody healthy and we’ve got a good group of guys and our pitching staff has shored up very nicely and we’re doing a great job," says Rohn. "It’s a matter of the attitude ... of the players going out and playing hard every night.”
The All-Star game is next week in Schaumberg, Illinois.
The Beach Bums play game two of a three-game series tonight against the Southern Illinois Miners.
