David Shifrin spent four summers at the National Music Camp and two years at Interlochen Arts Academy, graduating in 1967.
He won the Academy's concerto competition his junior and senior years of high school, as well as during the summer he spent in the University camp division.
Shifrin has since gone on to a distinguished career that focuses on education and chamber music.
He has served on the faculty of Yale University since 1987 and has been the artistic director of Chamber Music Northwest and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, among others.
