Hear the Metropolitan Opera's production of "The Hours," Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Kevin Puts's latest opera, on Saturday at 1 p.m. on Classical IPR.
Opera stars Renée Fleming, Kelli O’Hara and Joyce DiDonato sing in the production's title roles.
Playwright and lyricist Greg Pierce based the opera's libretto on writer Michael Cunningham's novel and subsequent film "The Hours," which connects three women, one of whom is author Virginia Woolf, through her novel "Mrs Dalloway."
Phelim McDermott's new production of the work features the Met orchestra and chorus alongside ensemble members Denyce Graves, Kathleen Kim, Sylvia D’Eramo, John Holiday, Kyle Ketelsen, William Burden, Sean Panikkar and Brandon Cedel.
Stay tuned during intermission to hear Christine Baranski's interview with the three stars and maestro Yannick Nézet-Séguin.
