The Metropolitan Opera’s 2021-22 season of Saturday matinee broadcasts continues with Le Nozze di Figaro – The Marriage of Figaro, Mozart’s brilliant and timeless comedy.
It stars bass-baritone Christian van Horn as Figaro, the man with the plan, opposite soprano Ying Fang as his equally resourceful fiancée, Susanna.
Bass-baritone Gerald Finley is Count Almaviva, who believes he’s entitled to everything – and everyone – on his estate. Soprano Federica Lombardi is his wife, the long-suffering Countess. And mezzo-soprano Sasha Cooke is the irrepressible pageboy, Cherubino.
Maestro James Gaffigan leads the Met Orchestra and Chorus in Mozart’s sublime score.
Le Nozze di Figaro will be heard live over the Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network at 1:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, April 9. Listen to it on Classical IPR.
