"The SpongeBob Musical" opened on Broadway in 2017 and was nominated for 12 Tony awards.

"The SpongeBob Musical" has original songs by Jonathan Coulton and additional songs by pop artists like rapper T.I., gospel singer Yolanda Adams and rock bands the Plain White T's and They Might Be Giants.
The Broadway musical features the adventures of SpongeBob SquarePants, his pet sea snail Gary, his best friend Patrick, his neighbor Squidward and his boss, Mr. Krabs.
Will SpongeBob and friends save Bikini Bottom from a volcano eruption? Will Squidward get to play his clarinet with the Electric Skates, a cool band that's in town? Will Patchy the Pirate successfully sneak into the show?
