This week, "From the Top" features Bryce Ames, a recent graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy.
Ames is originally from Trenton, Maine. He began playing the tuba at the end of his freshman year at the age of 14.
In his junior and senior years at Interlochen, Ames studied tuba with low brass instructor Tom Riccobono.
For "From the Top," Ames played "Concerto for Bass Tuba: I. Prelude: Allegro moderato" by Ralph Vaughan Williams.
