Classical IPR in Concert: Michael Coonrod plays Brahms and Schumann

Pianist Michael Coonrod

When Michael Coonrod was in high school, he wasn't a big partier.

Instead, he and a friend would listen to classical music late into the night.

Now in his 70s, Coonrod still performs some of the music that he listened to as a teen.

On this week's program, hear him in a recent recital of music by Johannes Brahms and Robert Schumann.

All pieces were recorded in the Dendrinos Chapel and Recital Hall unless otherwise noted.

Brahms, Ballade in B major, op. 10 no. 4
Brahms, Capriccio in B minor, op. 76 no. 2
Brahms, Romance in F major, op. 118, no. 5
Brahms, Rhapsody in B minor, op. 79, no. 1
Schumann, Symphonic Etudes
Brahms, Intermezzo in E-flat minor, op. 119, no. 6*
