Baroque on Beaver is a multi-day classical music festival held every summer on northern Michigan's Beaver Island. Soloists, chamber ensembles and a festival orchestra gather to perform and interact with audiences.
This week, Classical IPR in Concert presents one of the festival orchestra's concerts, called Baroque on Fire.
The concert featured music of Handel, Stravinsky and Wagner, plus the iconic Concierto de Aranjuez by Joaquin Rodrigo (featuring Interlochen Arts Academy instructor of guitar Matthew Cochran) and the United States premiere of "Krakatoa," Stacy Garrop's explosive new viola concerto (featuring violist Michael Hall).
See the complete program below. The music director of the Baroque on Beaver Festival Orchestra is Robert Nordling.
Tune in Friday at 8 p.m. for this special broadcast of the Baroque on Fire concert.
