Changes to federal law could threaten piping plover, Michigan's only venomous snake and other endangered species here.

The rollbacks at the federal level could also create confusion with Michigan's state-level endangered species protections.

IPR's Vivian La walks us through some reporting she did with her colleagues at Grist, looking at how changes to the Endangered Species Act will be felt nationwide.

We'll also visit a mobile health clinic aimed at expanding access to healthcare in rural northern Michigan.

Reporting for this episode by Astrid Code and Vivian La.
