Interlochen Public Radio is proud to bring you episodes of Michigan Dreaming, a podcast series from Bridge Michigan.

In the summer, in the Upper Peninsula, there’s a place where you’ll find sled dogs running around. It’s a business started by musher Laura Neese to introduce people to the sport and to make a little money in the offseason.

Earlier this year, the nonprofit news organization Bridge Michigan put together a summer bucket list with reader feedback. Visiting MI Dog sled dog center ended up at No. 9 on the list. Bridge Michigan’s Laura Herberg headed up to the center to document visitors chilling with the dogs.

The episode was produced by Bridge Michigan and contains music by Joystock - https://www.joystock.org.

Laura Herberg comes to Bridge from Outlier Media, where she worked as a Civic Life Reporter. Her journalism career took off at WDET, where she produced daily talk shows, created audio vignettes for galleries, anchored the news and hosted podcasts. Known for her sound-rich feature stories, Laura has won several awards and was named the Michigan Associated Press Best Reporter for Radio Broadcasting four times.
