As Interim Instructor of Voice at Interlochen Arts Academy, Dr. Andre Peele will train opera, musical theater, singer-songwriter and pop singers within the same day. While navigating multiple styles, his own training as an opera singer blends with a deep understanding of education psychology to help each student develop, starting with the raw material of their own unique sound.
In those lessons, Dr. Peele stresses that “everyone’s voice is different and important and valid.” He advises, “Learn to like your voice and you can always expand from there.”
He says that in lessons, he will likely hear a student’s best sounds and least favorite sounds. He considers it a blessing to “hear the human voice in all of its colors.”
