The Daisy Quintet plays music of Enrique Crespo

The Daisy Quintet in IPR's Studio A: (L to R) Nolan Grosse, Nicolas Moen, Ben Posner, Garrett Howell and Alexander Flores

This daisy is in bloom for three short weeks as five high school brass players gather at Interlochen Arts Camp from Ohio, Spain, New York, Bolivia and Tennessee to practice and perform as an ensemble.

Five high school Interlochen Arts Camp brass musicians joined together this summer to form the Daisy Quintet.

The group consists of Alexander Flores, trumpet 1, Nolan Grosse, trumpet 2, Nicolas Moen, horn, Garrett Howell, trombone and Ben Posner, tuba.

This quintet played together for the first three weeks of camp this summer. Although this was their final performance as a quintet, they'll continue playing together in the World Youth Symphony Orchestra for the remaining three weeks of camp.

They played this final performance as a quintet for a live audience in IPR's Studio A and spoke with Classical IPR about what you NEVER bring into a practice room.
