Guitarist and Interlochen Arts Academy junior Paloma Chaprnka visited Studio A to give a preview of Sunday's concert with the TC Phil.

Classical guitarist and winner of the Traverse City Philharmonic Youth Concerto Competition, Paloma Chaprnka, will be playing the first movement of the 'Concierto de Aranjuez' by Spanish composer Joaquín Rodrigo with the TC Phil in concert this Sunday.

The 16-year-old musician started guitar when she was 3, won her first guitar competition at age 10 and is now a current junior at Interlochen Center for the Arts studying with Matthew Cochran.

Chaprnka performed the first movement of the "Concierto de Aranjuez" in IPR's Studio A with collaborative pianist Ya-Ju Chuang. In an interview with host Scott Clemens, she discussed her routines as a performer, the challenges of this concerto and how she has grown as a musician since attending Interlochen Arts Academy.
