'KPop Demon Hunters' with Millie: It's hard work — Tuesday

This week, let's dive into the music of "KPop Demon Hunters" and its covers by the Vitamin String Quartet.

Hear today's full episode by clicking "Listen" above or find "Intermezzo" from your favorite podcast app.

Welcome to Intermezzo from Interlochen Public Radio, where we take a few minutes to bounce some ideas around about classical music.

Have you watched the hit movie "KPop Demon Hunters"? Join Christy L'Esperance and her co-host this week, Millie, as they explore the catchy and powerful music from the film and the Vitamin String Quartet versions. We heard about Huntrix yesterday, the K-pop trio that also hunts demons.

Huntrix has to work really hard to defeat the demons and monsters that manage to sneak into our world.

Like Huntrix, the Vitamin String Quartet is an ensemble that works hard touring — they start a tour next week that involves performing almost every night for two full months in the US and UK. They have over 300 releases, over 2 billion streams, and almost 4 million downloads.

Sounds familiar, doesn’t it? Here’s part of their version on “Soda Pop.”

This week's Mystery Melody

It's time to test your ears. Each week we have a mystery melody that we have to figure out together. It relates to our topic. (We'll make the melody less mysterious each day.)

If you know the mystery melody, text your name and the title and we’ll give you a shout out on Friday. The number to text is (833) 490-4718.

Christy L'Esperance is Classical IPR's morning host and producer.
