A Lang Lang summer: Ryan Lu plays Bach — Wednesday

Ryan Lu spent his summer touring with the Lang Lang Young Scholars. Hear him perform music by J. S. Bach recorded in IPR's Studio A on "Intermezzo."

While school is out for summer, we're giving you a sneak peak into this season of Intermezzo's content. This is Summer School with the Lang Lang Young Scholars.

Some teens went on summer vacations to the beach or the movies, but the Lang Lang Young Scholars have spent this summer touring around the world. They even stopped by northern Michigan venues for a series of special recitals and events.

About Ryan Lu

Ryan Lu, a pianist from Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, finds solace and inspiration in music. Reflecting on the “heavenly atmosphere” of the Bach Prelude and Fugue he recently recorded, Ryan speaks to the emotional connection he feels with the music he plays.

After long, demanding days, he often unwinds by sitting at the piano, which is his way of reconnecting with himself and the world around him.

Ryan performed works by J. S. Bach while on tour with the Lang Lang Foundation, which were recorded right here in Studio A.
