In 2011, four musicians got together to create an album that they weren't sure would work.

Cellist and classical music icon Yo-Yo Ma, and orchestral bassist Edgar Meyer joined forces with Nashville recording studio musician Stuart Duncan and mandolin wizard and MacArthur Genius Grant winner Chris Thile to create some musical magic.

The result? An album called "The Goat Rodeo Sessions."

The music spans genres and styles ranging from classical to bluegrass and everywhere in between.

Classical Sprouts' producer, Emily Duncan Wilson, loves this album and wanted to share some of her favorite tracks, dig into the name "Goat Rodeo" and hear from the musicians themselves about the process of making such an album.

But the question still remains... why is Yo-Yo Ma the "eagle?"
