We're traveling to post-World War II Paris today as we explore the 2015 musical "An American in Paris."
The musical is based on the 1951 film "An American in Paris," which was based on George Gershwin's 1928 piece for orchestra, also called "An American in Paris."
The musical features jazz-influenced music by George Gershwin and his brother Ira, who was a composer and lyricist.
The musical is about three men — a soldier and set designer, a musician and a composer — and a ballet dancer named Lise who they're all in love with.
The group ends up putting on a ballet together, but who will end up with Lise?
Listen to the episode to find out and hear all the fun Gershwin music throughout the production!
