Webcam captures birth of eaglets at Platte River hatchery

Carbon TV
An eagle poses for the camera as its newly hatched eaglet explores its new home.

A live webcamat the Platte River State Fish Hatchery has been getting a lot of attention. The camera sits 100 feet up in a tree. It's focused on a nest where a pair of eagles has been caring for two eggs.

Early Tuesday morning, one of the eggs hatched. And Tuesday afternoon, it appeared the second egg was close to hatching, too.

Paul Stowe is natural resources manager at the hatchery. He says his office has been taking calls about the eaglets from all over Michigan and the country.
