Fans of The Accidentals are stepping up to support the band after someone stole their trailer. The group lost the trailer full of merchandise, sound equipment and a drum set while on tour in Arizona earlier this week

The Traverse City band set up a crowdfunding campaign so they can replace their gear. So far, fans have donated over $14,000.

Michael Dause, the band's dummer, says he can’t believe how many people have reached out.

“It’s kind of insane,” he says. “I seriously almost cried a couple of times because people were coming out of the woodwork just giving us so much support.”

The Accidentals say they’re going to finish the tour out West, though the remaining shows might be stripped down.

“There has been such an outreach of people offering to pay for our food, offering lodging, offering even gear of theirs — as we travel to California,” says Sav Buist, a founding-member of the group. “We are not taking any of that for granted.”

The Accidentals will be back in northern Michigan on February 17th for a show in Manistee.

Dan Wanschura is the Host and Executive Producer of Points North.
