On any given day, Gregg Schumaker deals with the following: beavers, badgers, rats, mice, raccoons and skunks. He runs a company called Wildlife Management and Nuisance Removal, based in Emmet County.
Believe it or not, Gregg loves skunks, and he’s got a special approach to dealing with them. In fact, he rarely gets sprayed.
“You kind of talk to them quietly," Greg says. "You move at a certain speed – not fast, not slow, with a little bit of confidence.”
Gregg’s nickname is the “skunk whisperer." It's even written on the side of his truck.
