In 2012, comedian Tig Notaro had a few setbacks. She got an infection that could have killed her, she broke up with her partner and her 65-year old mother fell and died from a head injury. Then, Notaro was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. Just days after her diagnosis, she made her cancer the centerpiece of her comedy. Notaro performs at this year's Traverse City Winter Comedy Arts Festival.
