In local arts news this week, we introduce "Intermezzo", Classical IPR’s new podcast. In its inaugural week, it explores the theme of humor in classical music, including comedic timing and teasing through music composed by Franz Josef Haydn. Intermezzo airs weekdays, and episodes aim to engage young audiences and curious minds of all ages. It's available wherever you get your podcasts or at intermezzoipr.org.

And then there’s a murder, a fictional one. The new novel, “Off the Beaten Path,” takes place in a fictionalized Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Traverse City author Grace Edinger wrote it under the pen-name Eloise Corvo. She portrays northern Michigan as both beautiful and eerie – fitting for a murder mystery. “Off the Beaten Path” is the first in a series. It comes out April 29 and is available at local bookstores and online retailers.
