In July 1985, conductor and pianist Maxim Shostakovich visited Interlochen's National Music Camp.

During his time at Interlochen, he led the World Youth Symphony Orchestra in a performance of the Symphony no. 8 composed by his father, Dmitri Shostakovich.

This episode features a recording of this performance from July 7, 1985.
