Apr 28 Sunday
Join us at The Bay Community Theatre in Suttons Bay as we launch our annual celebration of Made-In-Michigan films this Sunday, April 28th at 4:00pm. The Made-In-Michigan series is a unique focus of The Bay Theatre that highlights the great filmmaking going on in our state and many times affords attendees the opportunity to engage in-person with the creative personalities involved.
We’re beginning the 2024 series with a Bromantic Comedy entitled “Quicksand.” Filmed in the Traverse City region, Grand Rapids and parts of the Upper Peninsula, Quicksand is about best friends Ray and Paul, co-best men in their buddy’s wedding who lose the wedding ring just days before the ceremony. Their quest to retrieve it turns into an exploration of life, love - and how to not die!
Tickets are just $10 and can be purchased at the door or online at thebaytheatre.com under “Schedule and Tickets.” More Made-In-Michigan films are scheduled for May19th and June 23 rd . Be sure to join us for each.
In celebration of National Poetry Month, join us for this FREE live reading event of the Poets' Night Out 2024 poetry contest at the City Opera House.
At this fun-filled community event, local poets from all over Northern Michigan will read their selected poems. Be sure to attend so you can vote on the audience prize winners!
The 2024 edition of the Poets' Night Out chapbook containing the poems read this evening will be available for purchase before and after the event, as well as during intermission. We'll also have copies of previous years' editions as well as the anthologies for PNO's first and second 10 years.
