Wiener Ski at Shady Lane Cellars
Wiener Ski at Shady Lane Cellars
Suttons Bay estate winery to host a day of cross-country skiing, hiking and lots of ways to warm up
SKI
Bring on the snow. Wiener Ski 2026 returns to Shady Lane Cellars to beat the wintry temperatures by hitting the trails and warming up near the fire pits. The event serves as a worthy reminder of ways to enjoy the outdoors this season. It includes access to two freshly-groomed trails, just steps from the tasting room. Visitors can take the 5K loop for cross country skiing and hiking or choose a separate 1.5K trail made for snowshoeing on the estate winery’s property.
Guests are welcome to bring their own equipment or rent skis or snowshoes from Suttons Bay Bikes. Rentals arranged in advance will be available for pick up at 1 p.m. and must be returned by 5 p.m. – all onsite Shady Lane Cellars in Suttons Bay.
SNACK
Wiener Ski 2026 includes plenty of comfort food and drinks for purchase. The Shady Lane Cellars team is again partnering with Leelanau Cheese Company. Beginning at Noon, Nik Basford of Leelanau Cheese company will be on site selling a winter warm up of beer brats on a pretzel bun with sauerkraut, whole grain mustard and topped with melted raclette for $15.
SIP
Shady Lane Cellars will be open for wine tastings and purchases. The staff will also provide mulled wine for $10, hot chocolate for $5 and s’mores kits for $5.
