Mino-bimaadiziwin - the Good Life: a summit to enhance local knowledge of Anishinaabe culture
Nurturing the Eighth Fire, the cultural resources support team for the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians’ Natural Resources Department, invites you (along with any of your staff/colleagues/friends/family you feel would be interested) to a summit on January 29, 2024 from 9:00am to 4:30pm at Kirkbride Hall, 700 Cottageview Dr, Suite 200, Traverse City, MI.
The summit will center on discussions of Mino-bimaadiziwin, the Good Life, an Anishinaabe philosophy for living in balance with all of Creation. The goal of the day is to enhance local community knowledge of Anishinaabe culture and language, build awareness of Anishinaabe protocols and support current and future partnerships.
We also present Keynote Speaker: James Vukelish Kaagegaaabaw, descendant of Turtle Mountain and celebrated author, speaker, and digital creator.
