Great Lakes Discovery Sail
Join us for a unique hands-on experience for 3 hours aboard our 77′ schooner Inland Seas. Become a Great Lakes scientist for the day. This is great for a family and students eager to learn about the ecosystem and sailing!
Not only will you learn about the ecosystem, you will also become part of the maritime sailing tradition by raising the anchor, hoisting the sails, and steering the ship. While the schooner is under sail, small groups move through a series of learning stations.
Some educational highlights of this 3 hour sail include:
Learning about the Great Lakes ecosystem
Trawling for fish
Collecting plankton
Sampling the lake bottom
Completing water quality tests and much more!

Your experience will depart from 100 Dame Street, Suttons Bay, MI 49682
You should meet at the boat, NOT at the Capt. Thomas M. Kelly Biological Station office.
Please arrive 20-30 minutes early before your scheduled departure.

What to Wear
Please dress according to weather predictions, and for cooler temperatures on the water. We recommend you do not wear flip-flop type shoes.
