Church in the Hills will present ENOCH ARDEN on Thursday, September 11th at 7 pm, 6401 Shanty Creek Rd, Bellair.
Love, marriage, shipwreck – themes in the epic poem written in 1864 by Alfred, Lord Tennyson.
Listen to this story, narrated by Pastor Chris Lane, with musical interludes by pianist Michael Coonrod and cellist Jean Coonrod. Framed lithographs on stage, taken from the original Tennyson book, give visual support.
Chris Lane, early on, saw the power of the spoken word through dramatic readings. Following his undergraduate in theater, he pursued a masters of divinity at Boston University. For the past 40 years he has served as a United Methodist pastor in several Michigan communities, most recently Traverse City.
Dr. Michael Coonrod has taught piano students and performed classical concerts for 55 years; he retired in 2022 from the Interlochen Arts Academy after 46 years on the piano faculty.
Having played recitals in China, Italy, Poland, and the US. Cellist Jean Merce Coonrod teaching cello for over fifty years.She played in the Traverse Symphony Orchestra for 38 years
