The Detroit-based string quartet is out and about for IPR Live!

The Detroit-based quartet Six Mile Strings is in the area as part of the IPR Live 2022 Summer Concert series. They performed Thursday at the Workshop Brewing Co. in Traverse City.

Saturday morning at 11:00, Six Mile Strings will appear at the Traverse Area District Library main branch as part of a Kids Commute event, introducing young people to the string quartet in a fun and intimate setting! Learn more about the event here.

Sunday at 3:00 p.m., the quartet will appear at Black Star Farms in Suttons Bay. They will perform a wide repertoire of music, including new works from the album they recorded here at Interlochen Public Radio! Natalie joined IPR's Kate Botello to share the favorite string quartet movement from each of her colleagues in Six Mile Strings, and talk about the group's outreach to bring classical music far and wide, in sometimes unexpected places.
