Every year since the 1930s, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences presents the Academy Award for Best Original Score.
We at Classical IPR have compiled an on-demand playlist of music from these scores in chronological order. (But you can always shuffle the playlist!)
The music ranges from the heroism of Erich Wolfgang Korngold's music for "The Adventures of Robin Hood" to the lyricism of Henry Mancini's music for "Breakfast at Tiffany's" (including "Moon River") to the disco-inflected sounds of Michael Gore's music for "Fame."
