Beethoven myths and facts with IPR's Amanda Sewell

Did Ludwig van Beethoven really saw the legs off his piano so he could feel the vibrations on the floor? (No.)

Did someone really have to turn him around because he couldn't hear the audience applauding at the premiere of his Ninth  Symphony?

(Yes - probably.)

On Friday, March 19 at 12 p.m., join IPR's music director Amanda Sewell for a virtual lecture that will examine and debunk some of the most common myths about Beethoven, asking why these myths about the great composer are so powerful.

This virtual talk is part of the Luncheon Lectures series offered by North Central Michigan College.

This lecture is free, but advance registration is required. Click here for more information and to register.

Dr. Amanda Sewell is IPR's music director.
